North Logan crews were patching several water main breaks Wednesday after a person broke a hole in the pipe while attaching a line.

City Administrator Jeff Jorgensen said the man was doing an unauthorized dig when he broke the line.

In the process of trying to repair the break, pressure spiked in other areas of the line causing additional breaks.

A dump truck was caught in a sinkhole, driving along 200 East, after one of the breaks weakened the roadbed underneath.

Jorgensen said users in the area of 200 East, between 2600 and 2700 North were without water for several hours while the breaks were repaired.
