Fargo, N.D. – Utah State’s men’s and women’s track & field programs earned four event titles and 14 top-three finishes at the NDSU Bison Team Cup, held Saturday afternoon at the Shelly Ellid Indoor Track & Field Facility.

The Aggies’ performance was highlighted by the distance races, where USU athletes captured the title in both the men’s and women’s 3000-meter events. Junior Katie Struthers-Haviland took first in the women’s race with a career-best mark of 10:02.57. In the men’s race, it was junior Stokton Smith capturing the title with a career-best time of 8:27.02.

The Aggie women captured three of the top-five spots in the 3000-meter run, as freshman Arianna Steiner placed third with a time of 10:18.76 and sophomore Madison Taylor posted a career-best time of 10:21.32 to end fifth. For the Aggie men, sophomore Caleb Garnica earned his way onto the podium in the 3000 meters with a career-best time of 8:35.19.

Three of the four event titles came on the women’s side, as sophomore Audrey Garrett won the high jump with a mark of 1.75 meters (5-08.75), and junior Bailey Maseda gave the Aggies their final event title as she captured the triple jump crown with a mark of 11.34 meters (37.02.50).

Utah State is back in action next weekend, as the Aggies head to Boise, Idaho, to compete at the Boise State-hosted Ed Jacoby Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 24-25.
