LOGAN — Jury selection concluded Monday for a 45-year-old Rocksprings, Wyoming man charged with sodomy, a first-degree felony.

Trevor Paul Vanoostendorp is accused of sexually assaulting a North Logan woman he met online and had a relationship with. He was arrested in April and booked into the Cache County Jail.

In May after a two-day preliminary hearing, a judge ruled there was sufficient evidence to bind Vanoostendorp over for trial and ordered him to remain in jail on a $200,000 bail.

Prosecutors claim Vanoostendorp assaulted and raped the victim on February 14 after she mistakenly cashed a $1000 check, he had made out to her.

Defense attorneys argue that the alleged assault was part of a dominatrix role-playing fantasy that the couple engaged in.

Oral arguments are expected to begin Tuesday. The trial is expected to last five-days.
