LOGAN – Non-region play has concluded, or will soon conclude, for Region 11 boys basketball with region match-ups beginning on Friday, January 10. Sky View (8-2) has a make-up with Morgan (6-4) on Monday night after a heavy snow storm on Thanksgiving eve prevented the Trojans from making their trip to Smithfield. Mountain Crest (1-8) also has a non-region showdown with regional rival Box Elder (7-3) on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Meanwhile, the latest RPI rankings have been released from the Utah High School Activities Association and the Sky View Bobcats remain #1. Two other Region 11 teams remain in the top 10: Bear River (9-3) is 7th while Ridgeline (7-5) is 9th.
Green Canyon has a similar 7-5 record as the Riverhawks, but they are currently ranked 11th. The Logan Grizzlies will enter region play with a record of 3-8 and an RPI ranking of 15, while the Mustangs are currently at the very bottom of the rankings at #21.

On Friday, Bear River hosts Sky View at 7 p.m. (heard on 104.9 The Ranch in Box Elder County and 106.9 FM / 1390 AM The FAN); Ridgeline hosts Green Canyon at 7 p.m. (heard on 104.5 The Ranch and 100.9 Lite FM); and, Logan hosts Mountain Crest at 7 p.m. (heard on KVNU 610 AM / 102.1 FM and 107.7 FM).
In Region 11 girls basketball, region play begins on Thursday and Logan (8-3) currently has the highest RPI rankings in the region, ranked #4 in the state. Green Canyon (9-2) is right behind the Grizzlies at #5, with Ridgeline (7-4) on their heels at #6. The Bear River Bears (5-6) are just outside the top 10 at #11. The Mountain Crest Mustangs (6-6) are currently ranked #13, just ahead of Sky View (5-7) at #14.
