Cache County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a possible stabbing Wednesday night at a park in Amalga.

Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Peterson said deputies responded to the incident at Sugar Park, 2350 West 6550 North, just after 8:00 p.m. The initial reports claimed a male had an injury consistent with a stab wound.

Investigators found a Hispanic male received a stab wound to the chest after having an altercation with another male.

The victim was transported to Logan Regional Hospital for treatment. He is reported to be in serious but stable condition.

Peterson said deputies reportedly took a suspect into custody for questioning. His identity has not been released pending an investigation.
