LOGAN — The second man accused of stealing several handguns from a pawn shop has pleaded guilty to charges of theft, burglary and drug possession.

Cody Naser appeared in 1st District Court, Tuesday afternoon accepting a plea agreement.

The 28-year-old Providence man pleaded guilty to two second-degree felonies for theft and possession of heroin and one charge of burglary, a third-degree felony. Under the plea agreement, the additional 13 felonies and misdemeanor charges were dropped.

Naser and 24-year-old Tyler Jenson are accused of breaking into Fast Cache Pawn in February and stealing 11 firearms.

In April, agents with the Cache Rich Drug Task Force and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives served a narcotics warrant in Providence and arrested Naser.

They learned that the stolen handguns had been discarded in the Bear River near Amalga.

A week later, the Utah State Dive Team and the Cache County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue recovered them. Jenson was arrested later that day and booked into the Cache County Jail.

Naser will be sentenced in September and could face up to 15 years in prison.

Jenson has already pleaded guilty to theft, burglary and drug possession charges. He is scheduled to be sentenced July 15.
