LOGAN — A 19-year-old North Logan man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl at a public park.

Larry Jokbata Billiam accepted a plea deal Tuesday in 1st District Court. He pleaded guilty to sex abuse of a child, a second-degree felony. A charge of child sodomy, a first-degree felony was dropped by prosecutors.

State attorney Barbara Lachmar said Billiam in April, was found at a local park inappropriately touching a 13-year-old girl.

Billiam claimed the touching was mutual and that he did not inquire the girl’s age. He was arrested in July and booked into the Cache County Jail. He is being held on a $20,000 bail.

In court Tuesday, Judge Brian Cannel ordered a pre-sentence report to be done about Billiam’s prior criminal history. He also set a sentencing date for September 23, allowing prosecutors time to collect a statement from the victim.

Billiam could face between one and 15 years in prison.
