NIBLEY – Malouf showed off their expanded and remodeled space on Thursday. They opened up their corporate headquarters in Nibley to the public for tours. The bedding company took nearly a year to rearrange office spaces, enlarge break rooms, gymnasium, display rooms and other spaces.

Sam and Kacie Malouf started the bedding company in 2003 and ran it by them selves until they hired their first employee around 2010. Today, Malouf has over 330 dedicated employees.

Hundreds of people came through the facility and took advantage of food prepared by the company’s chefs.

The interior of the building is open and light. There are few partitions separating people from each other. The interior has glass doors and walls spaced with clusters of organized computer areas for each department.

Sam Malouf, who lead the public tour, said the appearance of the new space helps employees feel more comfortable in their work environment. He boasts the company is among the top five mattress companies in country; they have over 330 employees that work in their Nibley headquarters.

“The openness and creativity of the interior stimulates workers to want to be here,” he said. “All of our design was created by our in-house designers.”

The different areas at Malouf are open helping communications between employees.

The size and scope of the design of the inside of the building is to show the future and vision of the company, Malouf said.

A large gymnasium on the main floor has a basketball floor surrounded by weights and exercise equipment for employees to use. There is a separate area for aerobics. Locker rooms with a changing area, lockers and showers are also available for personnel to use.

“We added the gym because we felt like it helps our employees stay healthy,” he said. “The area is used a lot.”

The company is in the process of building a similar sized building just west of their current location. The new building is expected to be about the same size and connected with a sky bridge, said Ashlee Willes, Malouf’s social media manager.

A set designer works on fabric to be used in the photo studio at Malouf Wednesday afternoon.

“Our current building is 240,000 square feet (including warehouse). Office space, alone, in this building is about 100,000 square feet,” she said. “The new building’s office space will be larger than what we have in our current building.”

The company’s photographers and videographers visited the finest studios in the state to decide how to set up their space, Malouf said.

“We have enough room for our designers to design sets,” said Kacie, Sam’s wife. ”We used to go into people’s homes and set up our product in selected houses; then we had to carry stuff in, set up and then tear it down.”

With the new studio, they can set up several rooms at the same time and photograph them with less effort, she said. Malouf recently expanded into furniture design.

There is a kitchen and staff of chefs to prepare meals for employees.

Some of the interior deign team at Malouf talk with Sam Malouf about upcoming projects.

“We have 18 chefs that prepare meals for employees,” Kacie said. “We take them with us when we go to shows in Las Vegas to fix food for potential clients. We are the only ones who offer food and people seem to like it.”

The bedding company was founded in 2003. Sam and Kacie worked the business themselves until about 2010 when they hired their first employee. Since then, they have become one of the leaders in the furniture and bedding industry.

The company’s products are available in more than 15,000 retail partner locations in the U.S. and it’s growing international team now serves over 25 countries.
