LOGAN — A 36-year-old man has pleaded guilty to inappropriately touching a teenage girl and will now wait to be sentenced.

Seth J. Martin appeared in 1st District Court Monday morning. The Logan man accepted a plea deal from prosecutors, pleading guilty to sexual abuse of a child, reduced to a second-degree felony. As part of the agreement, a similar charge was dismissed.

State attorney Jacob Gordon told the court, Martin grabbed the breasts of the 12-year-old girl several times around the first of the year. He reportedly knew the victim, who reported the assault to law enforcement.

The plea agreement will keep the victim from having to testify in court.

Judge Thomas Willmore asked Martin if he was aware of the possible penalties for pleading guilty, up to 15-years in prison and $10,000. The defendant acknowledged that he was, and said he was guilty.

Judge Willmore scheduled sentencing for December 12 and ordered Martin to appear again then.
