Tuesday morning on NBC’s Today Show, a new book by a 23-year old Logan author Sammie Parkinson and her father Paul was featured on the 10 a.m. Mountain Time portion of the program.
Paul Parkinson explains how the book, Unselfish Kids, came together.
”Back in 2015 we had done a book called Unselfish and over the last few years my daughter Sammie has been involved in different humanitarian projects and just found naturally where her passion was and what made her happy,” he explains. “So, a little over a year ago I enlisted her to help write a second book, this time on unselfish kids.
“But this time we focused on elementary-aged, school-aged children. She spent a good portion of the last year, year and a half, finding 40 stories of kids who’d done unselfish things.”
The Parkinsons appeared on the fourth hour of Today with hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush, plus three of the children featured in the book.
