The public is invited to join members of the Cache Chamber of Commerce at the chamber’s annual awards banquet to be held Thursday, January 22 at the Riverwoods Conference Center in Logan.

Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Sandy Emile says the event begins at 6 p.m. and reservations can be made online or by calling 752-2161.

On KVNU’s Crosstalk program, Emile said several major awards will be presented, including the coveted Total Citizen Award. She said this year that award goes to Jim Laub, CEO of Cache Valley Electric.

She referred to Laub as a, “wonderful gentleman” and said he supported many different local organizations and helped when someone was out of luck.

“Look at the mudslide, the canal disaster that we had and all of the help he has offered to home owners, property owners, the beautiful park that is being put in over there in memory of the lives lost,” Emile explained. “Jim is just always there. Look at the support that he has given numerous athletic teams in our community.”

Other award recipients are: Entrepreneurial Success – Malouf Lines; Family Owned Business – Central Valley Machine; Best Expanded Project – Bridgerland Square Development, Kris and Jason Larsen; Event of the Year – Little Red Riding Hood Bicycle Ride; and, the Media Advocate Award – Les Patterson of Cache Valley Media Group.
