A 59-year-old Hyrum man was hospitalized Friday morning after a two vehicle accident on Interstate 15, south of Pocatello, Idaho.

Idaho State Police (ISP) report Craig Nielsen was driving a 2003 Freightliner semi-truck that was struck by a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero, driven by 25-year-old April Stoor of Pocatello.

Stoor was attempting to merge with north-bound traffic from the 63 on-ramp. She drove off the right shoulder, overcorrected and struck the semi-truck.

ISP said it is unknown if Nielson and Stoor were wearing seatbelts. They were transported by ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.

The accident occurred at 7:40 a.m. One lane of I-15 was closed while crews investigated and cleared the accident.
