August 17, 1952 – January 12, 2020 – (age 67)Ernest (Ernie) Aran Hill unexpectedly passed away on January 12, 2020, with his family by his side. Ernie was born on August 17, 1952, in Henderson Nevada to Weldia Ray Hill and Lucille Fay (Cisneros) Hill. He grew up in Ogden Utah and attended Ben Lomond High.
He met Beth Zitting through friends and later they married. They had two daughters; Heidi and Elizabeth; and one son who proceeded him in death. Ernie was a jack of all trades and worked many different jobs. Ernie found work at Morton Thiokol in Promontory, Utah. Ernie decided to move the family to Tremonton, Utah and it was here that they raised their two daughters. Ernie and Beth later divorced.
Ernie met the love of his life when they served together on a federal grand jury. He moved to Cedar City, Utah to be with his new family. He was proud to be a father to Bridget, Sheela, Denzel and David Turner. Once his sons graduated high school he and Kathy decided to move back to the Tremonton area. While there he found joy being part of a community in Thatcher where he was able to work in a community garden. He was a social butterfly and made friends where ever he went. Although he was fulfilled to live with Kathy his greatest desire was to marry her. His happiest day was when they were married on his birthday in 2017. In the last year, he bought a home for them in Roosevelt, Utah where they planned to grow old together. He loved his new community where he was able to pursue his love of fishing and being outdoors.
Ernie loved being outdoors and would go stir crazy being confined inside for very long. He loved to fish and hunt, to ride his four-wheelers, tend to a garden be it a vegetable garden or a flower garden, he took pride in his yard. He was a handyman who could do just about anything to improve and maintain a home or automobile. Ernie found joy helping out on the Norman’s Farm in Corrine and considered the Norman’s not just as friends but as his family. Ernie had a heart to serve and give to those around him. Ernie would drop everything to help anyone in need. When it came to his family he was fiercely protective. Ernie may have not been the biggest man in stature but his presence was eminence and his departure from this world can not be measured.
Ernie was preceded in death by his infant son, his mother and father. He is survived by his beloved wife Kathy Beckham. His brother Lloyd Hill, sister Jenny Hill, sister Bessie Hill, and sister Annette (Dave) Piz. His two biological daughters Heidi (Jeremy) Burgess, Tremonton, Utah and Elizabeth (Abraham) Kay, Tremonton, Utah. His children Bridget (Jose) Turner, Salt Lake City, Utah, Sheela (Corbin) Turner-Ballam, Tucson, Arizona, Denzel Turner, Salt Lake City, Utah, David (Sandi) Turner, Tremonton, Utah. 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
As per Ernie’s wishes, there will be no viewing/funeral. The family is hosting a Celebration of Life to remember and celebrate Ernie. The family would like to invite everyone who was touched by Ernie to join them while we celebrate him on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 2:00pm at the Corine LDS Ward House located at 2335 North 4000 West, Corine, Utah 84307. The dinner will be a family/potluck-style meal with sandwiches if you would like to bring a dish to share it would be greatly appreciated and welcome.
