Police are investigating the death of a Brigham City woman, found dead Saturday in the Bear River, near Corinne.

According to a press release, Box Elder County Sheriff Kevin Potter said 26-year-old Nicole Barlow’s body was found by a fisherman that night, floating in the water about a quarter-mile from the boat ramp. The man called 911 and later led deputies to where he found the body. It is unknown how long she had been there.

Barlow’s remains were removed from the river and sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the exact cause of death.

Potter said investigators are treating the death as suspicious but are not releasing any details about how Barlow may have died.  An investigation is being conducted.

Deputies are asking anyone who may have information about Barlow’s death to call the sheriff’s office.

Potter said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Barlow family at this difficult time.”
