LOGAN — A North Logan child is in the hospital with minor injuries after being hit by a car Wednesday afternoon.

North Park Police Chief Kim Hawkes said the eight-year-old boy was riding his bike across the street, near 1530 Highland Drive, when he was hit.

Investigators reported 59-year-old Patricia Crockett was driving a 2006 Pontiac Torrent westbound, when she hit the boy.

Witnesses said the boy was thrown from his bike and had multiple abrasions to his face and body. He was transported to Logan Regional Hospital.

Hawkes said the Utah Highway Patrol assisted in investigating the accident and they concluded that speed was not a factor. No citations were issued.

The accident occurred around 5:47 p.m.
