The Child and Family Support Center of Cache Valley has received an $8,000 grant from the Utah Women’s Circle as one of four nonprofits doing an excellent job of empowering women and girls. The award is for the Women’s Sexual Assault Therapy Group which provides critical support for uninsured and low-income women.

A total of $23,000 in grants were awarded. The other recipients were the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake and Weber-Davis, the Aaron Kimball Foundation in Southern Utah and Utah for Women Veterans.

Esterlee Molyneux, executive director of the Child and Family Support Center, was both pleased and proud to be an award recipient.

“What was really interesting about this grant is it came through the Women’s Giving Circle,” Molyneux says. “It was a group of women who wanted to support other women in the state of Utah. This particular therapy group that we were awarded funding for is specifically for women.

“It will allow us to teach an additional therapy group and a psycho-educational workshop. We are thrilled, beyond thrilled! This is such an honor.”

Molyneux says two clinicians work with this very sensitive population, Dr. Diane Calloway Graham, who has been with the center for almost 25 years, and Janee Sorenson, who has 10 years experience there.
