LOGAN — It’s time for the semi-annual graduation for Bridgerland Technical College (B-Tech). Friends and family are welcome to the event that will be held Wednesday evening beginning at 630p.m. at Ridgeline High School’s auditorium in Millville. On KVNU’s For the People program on Monday, B-Tech’s outreach and recruiting coordinator said he’s looking forward to it.
“It’s an opportunity for us to showcase not only our programs but our students that finish the programs. We outgrew our facilities here and so we did need to take it to Ridgeline, which is a beautiful venue to be able to hold our graduation,” he explained.
Sorenson said many people do not realize how many students B-Tech graduates on a regular basis. He said this week it will feature about 500 students finishing up in upwards of 40 different programs.
“I think it would surprise most people to find out that our medical program, by far, has more graduates than any other program. We’ve got such an arrangement, a wide arrangement of classes that we offer, from dental assisting and EMT and medical assisting, nursing assisting, phlebotomy, pharmacy. We’ve got practical nursing.”
That program rolls into Weber State’s registered nursing program. Another program that is very popular involves robotics and automated manufacturing. He said the college actually does training for other companies that come into train their employees on the 4 different robots they train on. You can hear the entire interview below.
