LOGAN — A 61-year-old Paradise man missing for over a week, was found deceased in Blacksmith Fork Canyon, east of Hyrum.

The Cache County Sheriff’s Office said a Utah Department of Transportation mowing crew discovered the body of Osmer Michael Baker, Monday. It appeared he had been in a traffic accident involving a motorcycle.

Deputies said Baker most likely died of injuries sustained in the accident. His body will be transferred to the State Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy. The Utah Highway patrol will conduct an investigation into the accident.

Baker was last seen leaving work, September 5. He was driving an orange, 2014 Taotao Powermaxx scooter. Sheriff’s deputies had been looking for him since his family notified them he was missing.

Deputies were able to track Baker’s cell phone usage and debit card purchases through the first of the week but didn’t have any record of him since then.

Sheriff’s deputies said they appreciated the public’s help in attempting to find Baker.
