April 11, 1995 – January 6, 2020 – (age 24)

Ben Olsen passed away January 6, 2020, he was a loving husband, son, brother and a friend to everyone.

Ben was born on April 11, 1995 in Logan, Utah to Brad and Kristi Olsen. He was the youngest of 3 brothers. He graduated Mountain Crest High School 2013. Afterwards he served an LDS mission to Lima, Peru.

Ben was a born athlete and loved all kinds of sports. He played tennis and ran cross country in high school. He always enjoyed pushing himself past his limits and was always a fierce competitor. He was always diving or sliding to try to save the point, no matter what the game.

In 2014 Ben found the love of his life Makayla Kunsman. They were then married and sealed for time and all eternity on August 14, 2015 in the Logan Temple. They were able to travel many places. They worked hard together to build their home in Hyrum.

Ben enjoyed running and physical challenges. He had a goal to do a Spartan Race at least once in his life. He not only fulfilled that goal but surpassed it by completing the Spartan Trifecta which included a Sprint, Super and Beast race all in a calendar year. Ben loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, camping, surfing and anything else that would place him out in nature.

Ben was an extremely hard worker. He was always willing to serve others and even spent a year with a group of strangers building houses, including his own. Ben was skilled at many trades but focused on becoming an electrician. He had recently completed all the schooling. He was working as an apprentice. Striving to pass his final tests to become a journeyman.

Ben is survived by his wife Makayla; parents Brad and Kristi; brothers Max (Tasha) and Jake; and his dog Lance.

A viewing will be held Friday, January 10, 2020 6:00 – 8:00pm at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, and Saturday 12:30 – 1:30pm at the church before the funeral. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, January 11, 2020 in the Hyrum 3rd ward building at 95 North 675 West in Hyrum, Utah.
