Alternative Transportation Week is being celebrated at Utah State University the week of September 23-27. Sponsored by Aggie Blue Bikes, a program with USU’s Center for Civic Engagement and Service-Learning (formerly known as the Student Sustainability Office) the event is in its second year.

Last year’s event drew more than 500 participants. During the week, USU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to use alternatives to driving a single-occupancy vehicle to campus. Participants enter drawings to win prizes each time they cycle, carpool, walk or take the bus to campus by swiping their USU card at the TSC Hub, Aggie Blue Bikes, the Human Resources Building or the Information Desk at the Merrill-Cazier Library.

The ultimate goal of the week is to encourage alternative transportation in an effort to reduce air pollution.
